1. What is the legal age to marry in Fiji?
The legal age is 21 years, otherwise written consent is required from parents with confirmation from a JP.

2. What documentation do I need to get married in Fiji?
You will need to take original or certified copies of:
- birth certificates
- passports
- divorce papers (if previously married)
- death certificate of spouse if widowed
- a confirmatory letter of current marital status where the couple resides or a statutory declaration signed by a Justice of the Peace or Solicitor to prove he/she has not entered into a marriage before.

3. How do I apply for a marriage license in Fiji?
Marriage Certificates are available from Head Office of the Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages in Suva, the Divisional Registrar Offices either in Lautoka or Labasa or any of the District Offices in Fiji.

4. What hours are the Registration Offices open?
Registration offices are open between 8.30am and 3.30pm Monday through Friday. The license is valid for 28 days from the date of issue (within which time the marriage may be performed as stated in the license). Applicants from Asian Nationals who are named herein: Chinese/ Philippines/ Pakistan/ Korea/ India) are to apply one (1) month in advance for their marriage license. Some countries may require further documentation - we can advise on this at time of booking.

5. How much does the Marriage License cost?
Application for Special license: F$20.25 A TAPA design marriage certificate is also available for F$15.50 These costs may be included in your wedding package, however individual wedding packages vary from resort to resort. There may also be a charge for transfers to/from the Registrar's Office.

6. How many days should we arrive in Fiji before our wedding day?
We recommend allowing at least 3 working days in Fiji to finalise your preparations and obtain the marriage license. Remember to check on Public Holidays when planning your travel arrangements and allow an extra day if necessary. The Bridal couple must fax or email the legal documents to the Registrar's Office two weeks prior to their arrival in Fiji.

7. What is usually included in a wedding package?
Each Resort has its own wedding packages. Some will have a choice of a basic package right through to all the extras. Most Resorts will have a starting package and optional extras (eg. Bouquets for bridesmaids, hair and make-up etc).

8. What size group can Fiji Resort cater for?
Whatever size group you have, there is a Resort that can cater for you. From just yourself and your partner through to groups of more than 100 people - we can advise on options for your group size.

9. What type of food and drink will be served?
Each Resort has wedding menus. Usually these can be amended slightly to suit your requirements. Often they will have several choices to suit different budgets. Likewise, they often have drinks packages of varying prices. We can provide information for your choice of Resort.

10. How do we go about organising all the little extras?
Easy - just let us know what you want and leave the rest to us. We work closely with the Wedding Co-ordinators at each Resort to ensure all the details are taken care of. When you arrive, you will meet with the Wedding Co-Ordinator to go through the arrangements and ensure everybody knows where to be and what to do. Our aim is to take care of all the details so you can relax and just enjoy!
